
Everything in “The Mara” is larger than life. Land of rolling plains and dense thickets of scrub, and perhaps the only region in Kenya where there is the same superabundance of animals seen a century ago. Follow the path of the annual migration in a private game viewing vehicle with experienced guides who will take you on several drives each day, searching out lion, elephant, giraffe, wildebeest, zebras and all the herds that are part of the spectacle ‘great migration’.
DAY 1: Nairobi – Arrival
A privately driven vehicle will provide you with a transfer between the hotel and airport. After your guide has loaded up your luggage you will be driven through Nairobi admiring some of the sights (time permitting). Your guide will brief you on your itinerary en-route.

DAY 2: Maasai Mara Game Reserve
This morning you’ll meet up with your guide and head off to the Maasai Mara. The drive will be about 5 to 6 hours. Head directly into the park for game viewing and then return to the camp for late check-in or check-in first and then head out for an afternoon game drive. Chat with your guide for their recommendation based on your arrival time and park hours.
Enjoy a box lunch while you travel (included in tour price). Head out this afternoon, accompanied by an experience tracker-guide, on an exciting game viewing adventure. Search some of the area`s wildlife hot-spots determined by your guide, as they`ve learned and now understand the games daily routines through tracking. Some wildlife is more difficult than others to spot, for instance the Leopard. These spotted cats blends almost seamlessly into the tall grass and shrubbery, and are even more challenging to spot up in their favorite hangout, the trees.

DAY 3: Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Just like the local wildlife, you’ll head out bright and early this morning, alongside an experienced tracker-guide for the day’s first game drive. The eco-diversity and sheer size of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve provides the necessary requirements to house a wide range of animal species. The most recognized are known worldwide as the African Big 5, which includes the African Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Rhinoceros, Leopard, and the King of the beasts, the Lion.
On today’s afternoon game drive, the choice is up to you: search for the Big 5 or expand your horizons to discover something different. Maasai Mara not only has a rich mix of animals – it also has an incredible array of bird life with almost 450 different species.

DAY 5: Masai Mara Game Reserve- Serengeti National Park
Depart after your early morning breakfast for Serengeti via the Isebania/Sirare border. This will include normal border crossing formalities to take only a few minutes. This is drive will take up to 8 hours through rough road. Serengeti National Park is probably the most famous and most visited reserve in Tanzania and it’s also the largest, at 14,763 square kilometers of protected area that borders Kenya’s Maasai Mara Game Park. DAY 6: Serengeti National Park
This morning’s African adventure begins with an exploratory game drive through Tanzania’s oldest and most recognized National Park, the Serengeti. This location offers the most expansive game viewing in Tanzania. From predators to prey, great herds of grazing herbivores to tactically cunning packs of carnivores, life on the plains of the Serengeti can best be defined as a complete “circle of life.” A photographic dream unfolds before your eyes as giraffes and elephants feast on tasty shrubbery, whilst impalas, gazelles and buffalos dance carefully through the plains as to not become the latest meal for on-looking lions, cheetahs and hyenas.
Spend the day taking in the spectacle of the famous wildebeest migration. This annual migration through the Serengeti and Maasai Mara is one of the safari highlights of Africa.

DAY 7: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater
This African journey continues as you board a privately driven vehicle, accompanied by a local tracker-guide for your visit to the overwhelming large Ngorongoro Conversation Area. You’ll depart the Serengeti National Park grounds at a somewhat slower pace as to get in some more game-viewing. An optional stop at the Olduvai Gorge is highly recommended, where at the Serengeti Welcome Centre you’ll have an opportunity to marvel at a panoramic view of the surrounding area from the lookout point.
The massive Olduvai Gorge or Oldupai Gorge is often referred to as “The Cradle of Mankind.” Beginning in the eastern Serengeti plains, the gorge is roughly some 48 kilometers long. Resulting from millions of years of natural erosion, this gorge boasts a steep-sided ravine that cuts and stretches its way through the Great Rift Valley along eastern Africa.

DAY 8: Ngorongoro – Tarangire National Park
Transfer after breakfast for Tarangire National Park. Probably is one of the least visited of the northern Tanzanian game parks, and retains a real air of undiscovered Africa, particularly in the south of the park. Just two hours’ drive away from Arusha. It lies a little distance to the south east of Lake Manyara and covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers. It is named after the Tarangire River that flows through the park. The swamps, tinged green year round, are the focus for 550 bird varieties, the largest number of species in one habitat anywhere in the world; on drier ground, the Kori bustard – the heaviest flying bird – can be found. Enjoy your full day of game viewing at Tarangire National Park.

DAY 9: Tarangire – Arusha – Nairobi
Depart after breakfast for Nairobi via Arusha where you will make a stop over for your hot lunch in a local restaurant. Proceed on to Nairobi arriving by 1600 HRS. Depending with your International flight, transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for check-in or early dinner at the carnivore restaurant {depending on your time of departure} then drive to the Airport for your flight back home.
